Lily Allen's Daughter
The name of Lily Allen’s newborn child has finally been revealed. Her daughter has reportedly been named Ethel Mary.
The recording artist had kept name of her daughter a secret since November 2011 when the child was born. However, sources suggest that it was finally disclosed by Alison Owen, Allen’s mother, when she mentioned the baby by name on Facebook.
Lilly Allen, the daughter of Actor- musician Keith Allen and film-producer Alison Owen, announced that she was taking a break from her music career after the birth of her daughter. She is currently exploring the world of fashion while running a fashion store in London named “Lucy in Disguise”. Allan is also reported to be working on songs for a musical version of the well-known adaptation “Bridget Jones' Diary”.
Ethel Mary is the first child of Allen and her husband Sam Cooper. The artist started dating Cooper, owner of a large building company, in 2009. The couple got married last year and Allen has kept away from limelight since then. They have moved to Gloucestershire to live in her country home. Sam Cooper announced her to be pregnant with their child during his speech at their wedding on 11th June 2011.
According to reports, Allen was pregnant with Cooper’s first child in 2010. However, she had to suffer a pre-term delivery as she faced many complications and contracted a serious viral infection during pregnancy. But the star responded well to the treatments for septicemia, a blood poisoning condition.
Both Allen and Cooper were overjoyed at the birth of Ethel Mary. Good wishes and congratulations overflowed from Allen’s fans as they were very happy as well. The singer expressed her happiness and gratitude on the social networking site Twitter where she wrote:
“Thank you for all the flowers and lovely messages everybody. very touching indeed. nuff luv x x (sic)”
