ALLEN FUMING AT AWARDS
Adele's fans were left fuming when her BRIT Awards acceptance speech was cut off on Tuesday night.
Fans of the British singer Adele were left enraged when her acceptance speech in BRIT Awards was cut off. This gesture of disrespect was even criticized by several celebrities.
Previously it was Olly Murs who showed his disappointment on Adele’s speech being cut.
Now it is Lily Allen who expressed her take on the entire situation and has bashed the ceremony chiefs for being 'sexist' in their attitude. Lily was clearly upset with the way the organizers view female artists differently than the male artists and took to Twitter for expressing her views.
Adele won two awards in this year’s BRIT Awards ceremony for being the Best British Female Singer and the British Album of the Year. She was giving her acceptance speech and was about to thank her supporting fans when the event host James Corden went onstage and cut her speech short for introducing Blur.
This annoyed the 23-year old singer who then flipped her middle finger to show her discontent. She however apologized later and said her frustrated gesture was mainly pointed at the chiefs of the ceremony.
An ITV spokesperson apologized on behalf of the network saying that the award ceremony was a live event and they had to cut short Adele’s speech as the program was overrunning.
However, Lily was apparently not very satisfied with the apology and blasted the show chiefs for cutting off her speech. She said that she would rather listen to what Adele had to say in her speech. She further told that she is not really surprised at the way the Adele was treated and the situation clearly indicated the way music industry thought about women.
